Flying from Luton to Paris (CDG)

We are hoping to fly from Luton (London) leaving at 6 am to CDG (Paris) arriving at 8:20 am. Our flight back to the GTA (Toronto) leaves CDG at 11:55 am. Is this too close for comfort?

What airlines? Checked baggage? Baggage checked through?

Understand that a Low Fare Airlines will take no responsibility for your missing the flight (CDG-Toronto). If Luton is fogged in, tough luck. You might be better off taking the EuroStar. They won't take responsibility either, but at least they're not as likely to be delayed.

The flight is with Easyjet. We will have one checked bag. I will check the train too. Just trying to find the cheapest and fastest method of transport back to CDG. We are flying back with Air Transat.

Kim, I hope this is far enough in the future that the present volcano situation will not affect you.

If you can take the first Eurostar of the day to Paris which is at 5:25 am you will arrive at the Gare du Nord at 8:50 am (remember that France is 1 hour ahead of the UK). You still have to buy your RER ticket and get to CDG, which means about a 10:00 arrival at the airport. Then you have to get to Terminal 3 for Air Transat, which, you'll be glad to hear, is close to the RER station. But you are going to have to really hustle, at the Gare du Nord and upon arrival at CDG. If it were me, I would rather be in Paris the night before my flight.

Thanks to all who have replied so quickly!

I think, just to be on the safe side, we will be taking the last train from London the night before our flight. I checked the hotels near the CDG airport (Yikes, the expense! I night is more than our 5 nights in Prague.) then leave for the airport in the morning.

Any thoughts about buying the RER ticket to get from Gare du Nord to CDG when we first land in Paris? We were in Paris last summer, but didn't look into buying metro tickets for two weeks ahead of time. Can that be done?

Thanks again for the advise!
Cheers
ps Our trip isn't until August...hopefully no volcano issues by then.

Kim,

I think you've made a wise decision to go to Paris the night before your flight. Single metro and RER tickets are not dated. You certainly can buy your ticket to CDG in advance.

The Ibis Charles de Gaulle Aeroport/Terminal is reasonably-priced. It's located right next to Terminal 3 and the CDG 1 RER station. It's just a short walk from the free 24/7 CDGVAL shuttle train that connects all the terminals.

The last RER B train to CDG leaves Gare du Nord at 00:15.

Yes, yes, the Ibis near Terminal 3 would be perfect. You come out the door, turn right, walk in a straight line and in 5 minutes, less even, you are at Terminal 3. Sometimes Ibis has special prices if you book 30 days ahead. Good luck.
