I should know this but don't. After almost 3 weeks in England I am flying Aer Lingus from LHR to DUB. Do I go through immigration? At both airports?
Because Aer Lingus dropped it's price a wee bit and £ to $ is low, I booked my one-way flight for June 13. I have 1 hour 45 minutes to catch the Flight Link bus to Killarney. It should work, right? Looks like I can carry on if I don't buy too many souvenirs or stuff my personal item. Otherwise I will have to check my suitcase.
Four days based in Killarney, then five days in Dublin to see friends. I am flying home from Dublin.
As always, Thank You for your help.
Kathy
You go through passport control/immigration in Dublin.
As long as the flight arrives in Dublin on time I like your chances of catching that bus.
I flew this route mid September 2024. Arrived in Dublin about 10:30. I was second in line at passport control. It was very quiet with only a few booths staffed. Done in maybe 10 minutes. I hear it can be quite busy when the overnight flights from North America arrive. You should be fine either way.
FYI at the gate at LHR Aer Lingus gate agents wieghed every carry on bag. There was also a sizer but they seemed more concerned with weight. Not clear to me if this was normal procedure or special spot check, enforcement or data gathering.
Have a great trip!
There is not exit immigration in the UK so no immigration when departing Heathrow.
If you are going back to the UK after Ireland, there is no immigration.
Thank you all. Appreciate the help.
Rocket, thanks for the heads up about weight checks and sizers.
