Flying from Israel to the US

I am looking at return flights from Tel Aviv to the US for next year. Is better to fly during daylight or during the night. One flight leaves at 12:40am and arrives in Boston at 5:30am. The other flights leave between 4:30-6:15am and arrive in the mid afternoon to early evening to JFK. Been a few years since I've flown back across the Atlantic.

I fly to the US every couple of years. I like the day time flights because it's very hard for me to sleep on the night flights. I get to Chicago in the early evening and my only challenge is to stay awake for dinner. Then I'm ready for bed. I imagine it will be easier for you since you'll be in your own home and your own bed. In the past I've flown on the night flights. That means getting very little sleep and then having a really really long day to slog through.

Have you looked at Turkish Airlines? The have non-stop flights between Boston and Istanbul, and mutliple daily flights to TLV. It's always been a seamless transfer for me and IST is enroute between BOS and TLV. I haven't looked at your options, but on my upcoming trip this fall, I fly from TLV at 10.30 am, have about 1.5 hr layover and land in Chicago at 5.40 pm. I do take the night flight back, leaving at 20.40 pm and landing TLV at 9.40 pm with a 3.5 hr layover. I could have chosen a shorter layover, but I'll be doing a lot of shopping in the US and want to give Turkish Air plenty of time to get my checked bags to the 2nd flight.

I will be using my delta skymiles for the tickets so other airlines are not an option. Have 1.5 million saved up.
