Flying between Paris and Provence

I will be spending a few days in Paris before traveling to Provence. I was thinking of flying to either Nice or Marseille rather than taking a train. I have heard that flying Ryanair out of Paris is problematic because of the airport they use. Is there another carrier that would be easier to use? I will b returning to Paris to fly back to the US. Thanks for any help. Judy

Yes, Beauvais is a long way from Paris. If you fly Beauvais-Marseille on Ryanair, you have to take a shuttle bus from Porte-Maillot three hours before your departure time.

EasyJet is a budget airline that flies to Nice from both CDG and Orly.

FYI, there is a direct night train between Paris and Nice.

Thank you both for your responses. We had not thought about a night train which brings up another question. What is the bedding like on a night train? Also it is good toknow that Easyjet flies out ofCdg. Judy

Judy, unless you've got some special angle (which I hope you will share) it's faster to take the train.
