Fly out of Orly or CDG?

We are staying in Rue Cler (Hotel Grand Leveque) the night before our flight and have the option to fly out of Orly or CDG? Which option would be best in your opinion? The flight out of Orly is 10:45 on Norwegian Air Shuttle (versus 11:25 out of CDG on SAS) and 25 euro cheaper total (118 euro versus 143 euro) for both my wife and I than the SAS flight. We will take the metro/public transport and will only have carry on baggage (our new Rick Steves convertible carry ons!!)

Thanks!

Orly is a bit closer than CDG - and the cost difference in getting their is minimal - 6 Euro vs 8 Euro.

I find Orly to be a bit easier to get around (as it is a smaller airport) only because the large international airlines have the bulk of their flights in and out of CDG.

Both airports are accessible from RER B - however Orly will require a change to the OrlyVal train in Antony. Not a big deal really - or you can take the OrlyBus to get their directly (I think this is faster personally).

Take a look at the airport information here. http://www.bonjourlafrance.net/air-france/paris-airports-map.htm

In this case I'd also recommend Orly. Take the Metro to Denfert Rochereau and the Orlybus from there. It runs every 15-20 minutes and costs 6.10€.

I have no idea how Orly works but let me share w/you what they did to my arriving and departing flights at CDG. The planes stopped somewhere away from the terminals. All the arriving plane's passengers had to take a shuttle bus. Officials whisked us away from the plane to the bus. We were packed like cattle in this bus that drove about 1/2 hr to get to the terminal. The driver was enclosed in a shatter proof glass compartment. Is it to stay separate from the crying babies or the irate, jetlagged adults? There was a close call w/a gasoline truck. This procedure was reversed for the departing flight. Both flights I took Air France, which I have no complaints with. But is this nutty procedure an Air France or an international flight thing? I'm sure I did not experience an anomaly. If Orly doesn't do this, use that airport no matter how much it costs!

Thanks for the replies! Looks like we'll use Orly then. I'll check out their website for the transportation links and look at the RER map. Sounds easier to use AND it will save us about $40!
