Can you kindly recommend a good meeting point in the Firenze SMN train station? We will be taking a train from Venice to Florence and our friends will be taking a train from Rome to Florence. We would all like to meet in the train station at some easily identifiable place. Do you have any recommendations?

Sherry, it is rather small. As you get off the train you will see the big screen for connections- ticket sales are off to the left. If the first to arrive stands in this area, you will certainly see the 2nd to arrive

You could also agree to meet at the head of the track where the later-arriving train will come in. The first arrivals can look at the board and determine which it is. Or just pick a track number, like #5, ahead of time, and meet there. Or you could pick a sppot from the station information page: http://www.grandistazioni.it/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=84db47db3c09a110VgnVCM1000003f16f90aRCRD Look under "services" or "bars and restaurants" to pick a spot. In front of McDonalds would be easy; you don't have to go in and buy anthing. Of if there might be a longer wait between the 2 trains, pick a bar or restaurant where the first arrivals can relax while waiting.
