Advice on buying bus tickets online?
We intend to go to San Gimignano from Florence for a few days. Bus looks like a good option, but I can't figure out how to buy tickets ahead of time. I need to ensure a seat on the return trip in time to catch a late morning train in Florence.
You can Ask a newsstand or a tobacconist showing the Autolinee Toscane's logo on the window. Or you can play a little with the ticket machines at tramway stops.
Or just install the Tabnet app.
I used Flix from Sienna to Rome. We've also used it in other countries. I just purchased tickets thru their app. Easy. Additionally, I thought the bus was nice and the service was good.
FYI: Out the side door of the train station, there's a McDonald's Restaurant. The buses line up to the right of McDonalds and around the back of that block behind the restaurant.
Note that the Autlinee Toscane busses are just mass transit. Buying a ticket in advance does not "secure you a seat".
Where are you travelling to? Taking a train from Florence may not be the optimal option. There are train stations closer.
