Florence to Montepulciano

Montepulciano is tricky. There is a Montepulciano stop on a local train line from Siena, but it's way out in the countryside and not well connected to town. Instead, get off at the Chiusi/Chianciano Terme stop, where the Siena line meets the main Rome-Florence line; from here, a local bus meets most incoming trains.

Another option is to take the SITA bus from Florence to Siena and then a bus from Siena to Montepulciano. Bus service is good from Siena. About 2.5hrs.
