We have a 3:30 PM flight from Peretola (Florence airport) and are staying near the train station. What is the best way to get to the airport? Also what time should we arrive?

Until we connect again which will probably be in the next day or two. I purchased my flight to Sardinia and we are arriving in Alghero. I will only have 5 maybe 6 nights before we have to be in Rome on Sept. 6 for a 12:30 flight to NY.
My questions are: should we stay in Alghero or plan to go to Olbia for a few nights? I can split nights 3/2 or(3). I'm thinking just stay in Alghero and doing day trips from there. There is an early morning flight from Sardinia to Rome on Sept.6 or should I play safe and go to Rome on Sept. 5? If I go to Rome on Sept 5, I can have dinner at our favorite restaurant, LaPentuloccia!
Again I am so thankful for your knowledge. I am hopefully planning a road trip from Connecticut to California next spring - summer . I'll have to make a connection and buy you dinner.

Go to Rome on Sept.5 to be sure you make your Sept 6 flight. home.

You must be in Rome the day before to get that 12:30 flight out.
Arriving that morning to connect is WAY too close for comfort.
