Anyone have recent experience with Flix Bus in France, particularly from Nice to Aix en Provence. Would you recommend. I am thinking of this September.

I have not taken that route but I have used Flixbus 3 times in Europe and have had no problem with their service. Nice to Aix is only 2 hours and 40 minutes so I probably would take it over the train if the price was significantly lower. The advantage of taking the train is that there is more space and toilets; the bus only has one.

Another advantage of taking the train is that you can get up and walk around if you would like to stretch your legs . . , not advised on a bus !

It's only a two-hour ride. We've taken it from Nice with a stop in Aix, but we were going much further than Aix. Fast and inexpensive. The bus station appeared away from the center, Cours Mirabeau, so you would probably need to call a taxi or Bolt.
To get there by train, you have to change trains in Marseille. You could also check BlaBlaCar Bus.
