I am taking s group to Nice in June this summer. Does anyone have any airlines or agents to recommend?
Is the group large enough to warrant an agent? Is this the only destination? How long is this trip?
Hi Lee Do you mean next summer? How big is the group?
June 2011. 15-20 mostly teenagers. Nice is the only destination for the flight.
The length is seven days. It is for a French camp.
With a group that size, you're definitely going to need the help of a travel agent. (Not from your area, so no recommendations other than be sure they are a member of ASTA). All major airlines fly out of DFW, so the number of flights available is quite large. Nice is not a direct destination so you will have to make at least one stop on the way, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or similar. You'll also have to take airport transfers into consideration. What about lodging? Or is it a room, board and instruction type of experience. Is this a school sponsored event? There are some travel organizations that specialize in student travel you could look into.
Delta has a non-stop flight from JFK to Nice. (They are also partners with Air France which would have the most flights into Nice.) For a group that size, you qualify for a group discount. Every airline has a group department who specialize in this. They are not the same as the agents you speak to when you book a ticket for one or two. Here's Delta's information on Group Sales: http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/plan_flight/group_sales/index.jsp You might also check with British Airways and Lufthansa to see what they would charge and how many connections. With a group, you want the least number of connections as possible.
