Flights "operated by"

I'm looking at flights from SEA to SOF next September. I usually fly British Airways but the times flying to/from LHR-SOF are all wacky; same with Lufthansa. The most convenient times are offered by KLM and Air France, both "operated by" Delta. Both are the same price (booking Delta itself costs more).

So is there any good reason to book with KLM instead of Air France, or vice versa?

And how is Delta long-haul? I don't think I've ever flown Delta.

The Delta flights from SEA to Amsterdam or Paris are the most common choice among our traveling staff, for convenience of schedule and connections. I would say that British was nicer in the past, but last time that I flew British, service was very similar. Delta has fine service and good movie selections (improved after an initial year of operating the Paris flight without entertainment options). The European flight leg will be operated by Air France from Paris or KLM from Amsterdam. It does not matter whether you book through Delta or a European carrier, since they're all code-shared. Amsterdam is an easier airport to navigate.

KLM and Air France merged in 2004 and have the same parent company. They are, however, still run as two separate airlines.

Hi Teresa, if you're booking a trip with Delta as a portion and KLM or AF as the other, there's two slightly different luggage size requirements which you will need to follow for your carry-on suitcase - 21.5 x 13.5 X 9" max.

Delta: 22" x 14" x 9" (56 x 35 x 23 cm)
KLM & Air France: 21.5 x 13.5 X 10” (55 x 35 x 25 cm)

We fly mostly Delta. Their Economy Plus seats are nice.
