Flight tips needed: London to Switz, Paris Orly to London Gatwick

Best air to Switz from London ? Basel, Bern, Zurich, Geneva ? (final destination: Berner Oberland)

Also, can't seem to find any direct routes Paris Orly to London Gatwick - am I missing something other than Norwegian air with a 12-hour layover ;-) ? (our friends live in Sevres, so we are trying to spare them a long drive to CDG - or us a long Metro/train journey to CDG) We are hoping to maximize our time in Paris, so want to "hop" the Channel later on the evening before our flight back to Canada.

I have looked into Eurostar Paris to London, and its do-able, just hoping to avoid cross-Paris travel to Gare du Nord (staying in Sevres), and also hoping to end up at Gatwick as our homebound flight leaves from there the next morning, and St. Pancras Station is quite a distance from Gatwick.

many thanks in advance!

London to Switzerland is easy. Lots of airlines fly from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton to Basel / Zürich / Geneva.
Bern is a nothing airport, no useful flights to anywhere.
I would start by looking at www.easyjet.com then https://www.swiss.com and www.britishairways.com

I can find no flights from Paris Orly to London Gatwick. You might just have to go from Paris Charles de Gaulle.

You might be overestimating the difficulty of getting from Sevres to CDG, not much more trouble than getting to Orly. Take the train to Montparnasse, change to the No 6 Metro 3 stops to Denfert-Rochereau, RER B to CDG. Takes about 1 hour 20 minutes.

You may be overestimating the difficulty of getting from London St Pancras International to Gatwick Airport.

There is a direct Thameslink train from the Thameslink station in the corner of St Pancras (lifts and escalators easy) below the Eurostar terminal direct to Gatwick with no changes (trains marked Brighton). There are at least 3 an hour, most of the day nearly around the clock. At Gatwick an easy escalator or lift up to the airport puts you right in one terminal and a very short people mover from the other.

By the time you have done the airport thing and all the associated security theatre you could be at your destination by Eurostar, with decent scenery on the way into the bargain.

I tried on ITA Matrix, which generally covers all noteworthy airlines except Southwest. No direct flights between Orly and Gatwick. Best they can find is one stop connections involving going through Spain on Iberia, Air Eruopa or Vueling, a BA flight connecting through Rome, and TAP routing you through Porto if you want something that's six hours or less. Air Europa is the only option for less than 200 euros.

Granted I've got a higher tolerance for long Tube rides than many, but I'd rather take a direct flight from Orly to Heathrow and make my way to Gatwick by land than back track through Spain. The BA option will run you generally less than 80 euros and they've got friendlier carry on and hold baggage options than easy jet so will often end up slightly cheaper if you don't want to cram your personal item into your east jet lone cabin bag.
