Flight prices

Buying 4 tickets from PHX into STO June 28th, flying out of CDG back to PHX anytime from 14th to the 16th of July. Tickets are 1600 each, should I buy now or wait? Ive heard prices always go down 4-6 weeks beforehand, but the price of oil isn't going down! What do you think I should do?

I'd buy now, especially since you're going in the height of the travel season and you need 4 seats. Prices may go up or down, but the number of available seats will always go down.

Mark, I doubt they will go down since this is peak travel season. You can save a little by flying out of LAX, $1450 tickets, but probably not worth the hassle. Saves $600, but time and expense will chew into most of it.

I sympathise w/ you as I just bought a tix rdtrip from SFO-Edinburgh for over $1500 for one in econ.. I have been watching and cking daily for 1.5 mo. consolidators and major airlines. And yesterday they all went up another $100 dollars and the schedules aren't as gd as I had hoped. I purchased but in last 8 yrs of European travel I have never pd more than $975.00 for summer. Of course the fuel surcharge and xtra taxes for my trip are over $550. You need 4 tix not an easy request I think you will need to purchase at $1600 if you still want to go. Also realize usually CDG is more costly than some other like Zurich. all the best and I if you are renting a vehicle a gallon of reg fuel in GB in $7.99/gallon so will prob be sim elsewhere.
gd luck.

thanks for all the ideas...I finally booked AA from PHX into LON for 1255 each ticket. I then bought separate tickets from london to STO and from STO to CDG and taking the Chunnel back into london. Total cost is almost 6200. 300 cheaper than what I wanted and 800 cheaper than when I finally decided to book, but then found out the tickets were gone.
I got a better departure time from PHX. I leave at 2.15 pm vs leaving at 650 am.... The only downside is that I have to go through customs at heathrow, grab my bags and then check back into heathrow...but all in all, Im ok with it. In addition, I did apply for a BA chase card and got 100k miles...so when I go to Rome in September, at least part of the way will be free....
