I've been searching for a ticket around December 20th to come back from Thessaloniki, Greece. Anyone have any recommendations where I won't have to spend 1000 $ for a ticket? I can also fly out of Athens.
The leg from Athens to Thessaloniki will add considerable to your costs. You may catch a sub 1000 out of Athens but I think the days of sub 1000 tickets to Europe may be numbered as the price of oil continues to rise and the dollars falls.
I can get a $668 ticket from Alitalia, however, do you think it will be gone before then. I dont want to be stranded with a ticket.
Forgot about the east coast and December. But the pressure on ticket is not going to be downwards. Less than 700, I think I would grab it but I don't know what you mean by being stranded.
Some claim Alitalia is going bust. So if the airline goes under they don't have to refund your ticket...its a student deal and I dont wanna be out $688 if I don't have to.
Well I found a safer flight a little cheaper actually going to Dusseldorf, Germany.
Olympic Airlines to Dusseldorf which is around $100.
Air Berlin from Dusseldorf to JFK which is around $500.
So if someone is in a similiar rough spot and you have time to kill, stop in Dusseldorf, save money and see another European city.
