I'll be flying with my adult daughter in late May. I found a round trip ticket for $903.00. Will it only go up or should I wait for a sale? Are there ever any sales?
Agreed, esp. from Portland, which is not that well served when it comes to Europe flights.
You've got a good price. I'd go ahead and book it. If the price drops, it probably won't be by very much. And it might just as likely go up.
That question is nearly impossible to answer. Air fares do not follow any predictable pattern. Late May begins to approach high season. My personal opinion is that anything sub $1000 is a decent fare. I also think you can do a lot of brain damage trying to save a few dollars on air fare when there are often many places in your travel schedule where you could save more money. The fare MIGHT go to $850 but you will not see $750 or $700. And it is more likely to move towards $1100 and $1200. So you have to decided what is an acceptable fare against what it might do. Personal I would grab that fare and not look back. Of course, that is my attitude about buying/selling stock. And it is nearly the same exercise.
Thanks for the encouragement
My experience flying from PDX is you are unlikely to find something lower in May, unless you have FF miles or the ability to wait until the last minute (I prefer not to do that when planning an overseas vacation). The Delta direct flight to Amsterdam rarely goes below $1000. I paid $988 round trip (PDX-AMS-Barcelona; Madrid-PDX) for a late April trip last year.
May prices (at least from PHX) have started ticking upwards this week.
Sounds like a good fare to me. I look at it as the same as buying a car.I purchase when Im happy with the price and then dont look back.I dont want to hear that someone bought the same car for 100.00 less.
From the search I found conducted it appears to be a decent fare, especially considering the season. I made the unfortnate mistake of "waiting out" a vacation package for mid-Apr and on Tuesday morning it up $500 and I really don't expect it to decrease significantly (fingers crossed though). Strike while the iron is hot and good luck!
