Has anyone had any experience with HOP! airlines?
I would like to get from Florence, Italy to Bayeux, France on April 18.
On the face of it HOP! airlines has exactly what I want: 13:15-16:35, stopping in Lyon to change planes.
That gives me time to get from Caen to Bayeux for a multiple day stay to visit the Normandy area.
BUT there is only 30 minutes between fights, which makes me dubious that we could really make the connection. I can't help but wonder what happens if the first flight is delayed.
AN 4533 FLR-LYS 1:15-2:50 (operated by AN)
AN 4533 LYS-CFR 3:20-4:35 (operated by BritAir)
Advise anyone?
Bits and pieces:
Hop! Is a cheapo owned by AirFrance. It was a merger of some kind with Brit, Airlinair, and somebody else. All your flight numbers are under the same corporate umbrella. Like anybody else, they'll move you along if they screw up. More likely, they won't even release the second flight until the first one chugs in unless there's a huge time disparity.
Satolas a shrimpy, but good, airport. You could walk from the extreme end of T1 to the far end of T2 and back a couple of times in twenty minutes.
Thanks, Ed.
I have emailed and the talked with HOP! and they advised me that in the unlikely chance that I miss the connection in Lyon they will rebook without extra cost on the next flight to Caen.
Anyone know if there is some type of shuttle service at Caen airport to get me to Bayeux or if not there then at least to the Caen train station?
