Our flight arrives in Frankfurt with just an hour before the next
flight leaves for Rome, do we have to go through custom's and is it enough time to make the flight?

Harry, I faced exactly the same situation on a flight to Rome with a one-hour connection in Frankfurt. I expressed concern to the Travel Agent and she checked with the airline. We were told that it was a "legal connection". I also questioned the Flight Attendant just prior to arrival in Frankfurt, and was told that I wouldn't have any problems, but "don't stop for coffee". He was absolutely correct! I was at the boarding gate for my Rome flight in 20-minutes! You will have to go through Immigration and have your Passport stamped, as that's the first entry point to the E.U. One factor that I believe helped in my situation, was that on the flight to Frankfurt, I was seated right behind First Class so was able to get off the plane quickly and get to Immigration before the queue started. If I'd been seated at the back of the plane, the extra time to de-plane may have been a problem and I might have missed my connecting flight. Happy travels!

Is this Frankfurt Airport - FRA or Frankfurt Hahn, with Ryan Air? Hahn is 120 km from Frankfurt but Ryan Air does fly from Edinburgh to here and also to Rome.
