I'm planning a trip to Africa for 9 months. I'm hoping to stop through France on my way back to the US for a week as well. Does anyone know of a good/cheap way to go about this? My entire trip is from Sept-July, so I am currently unable to book any roundtrip tickets for that entire length. Any ideas are appreciated!

Buy 2 RT tickets. One SEA/CDG and the other CDG/AFR.

First off.........air tickets can only be purchased 330 days prior to the departure date. Note your return flight for next July (?) is not open for booking yet. So...that may be part of your problem? You probably will be able to book sometime August/early September for a July 2010 date.
