finding cheapest Europe flights

Hi all,

I was just wondering what tips people might have in their experiences finding the cheapest rates online or otherwise in their trips to Europe. So far it seems like Vayama.com is has the cheapest rates I've found, but wondering what other venues people might have found. I'm out of Portland, Oregon.

Thanks!

I am going back to the UK so I am somewhat flexible as far where to fly in and out of. I have friends in London and Edinburgh, but I could fly into Glasgow also. I am going to spend more time in Ireland this time so I could also fly into Dublin. It is so cheap to fly between the UK and Ireland that I'm flexible. I'm going in October again this year as I did last year.

Thanks,

I will be going to Europe this summer and after searching for months finally purchased my tickets. Kayak.com seems to be the best site to find fares from various airlines and other sites including Vayama, Airfare.com,Expedia and many others. It will direct you to the site where you can find the cheapest fare. You can also set it up so it lets you know each day what the fares are as they change.

I signed on with vayama.com through kayak.com (which still is sending me flight price updates daily, so I know whether I blew it booking for a July flight to Austria - or not!). Confirmation came within two days, so I am set on Lufthansa.

Other consolidators and booking websites (Expedia, et al) have nothing comparable in cost.

However, you do have another option - Virgin Air, which starts flying out of Seattle via San Fran (unfortunately, but check the special pricing!). You can then take Virgin to Britain. JetBlue also is offering special fares. You didn't mention when you plan to fly, but if it's a trip this summer I'd start setting fare alerts.

Thanks so much guys. I'm going in October so that should give me plenty of time. I will check into the Virgin Airlines deal from Seattle, and also sign up with Vayama and Kayak for daily updates.

Thanks again!

Well, if you can make it to Vancouver or Calgary you can try Zoom Airlines. Have heard great reviews and they are pretty cheap and fly to Britain. They are not on kayak or anything either.
