We would like to take a tour of China, but there are so many tour groups. How do we find a reputable one?
I would suggest somewhere other than an European board. Fodor's has a travel board for Asia - China. As does other travel sites except this one. You have to go by other people's recommendations.
Thanks, Frank. I'll check out Fodor. Hadn't heard of them before, but in Rick Steves I trust, so thought I'd start here. Cheers!
Ned, I can highly recommend Uniworld for travel to China. We had a national guide that traveled with us, as well as local guides in each city. The trip was flawless, even when a flight was canceled after we were aboard. Our national guide ran down the concourse and got our group of 17 on the very next outgoing flight 90 minutes later, and we missed nothing that we were intended to see. I wouldn't hestitate to book with them again for other destinations.
Thank you for the recommendation, Nancy! Sounds like you had a great trip. I'll check them out.
Ned, If you do want to speak with a Travel Agent, you might try the same Agent that Rick uses, Elizabeth Holmes Travel in Seattle. Shouldn't cost anything just to get some information, and they may be able to provide you with a list of several tour companies to choose from. Cheers!
Great idea, Ken. It's definitely worth a call. Thank you.
