Finding a good travel agent for northern Europe?

My family of four (two adults, two kids) is going to embark on a fairly complicated trip to Britain, Denmark and Finland next spring to attend a wedding and see relatives. I'd like to find a good travel agent who can help us sort through various flight options without costing an arm and a leg. Can anyone recommend one in the Seattle/Kitsap county area? Or, suggest a good way to find one? I haven't used a travel agent in years.

Thanks,

Michelle

Michelle,
Although I haven't used them, I would consider RS's consultation. I've also been to his place and gotten an incredible amount of 'free' advice (we always end up spending money) on ways to do things. That's how we found out about using BMI to fly from Paris to London instead of taking the (expensive) chunnel trip back. It saved us a huge amount of time and money.
This weekend is the travel festival, so it may be a bit busy to get advice from the employees on the fly, but go back during a time when they're not busy and I'm sure they'll be happy to give you some ideas. And then you can go through their consultation process when you've got a tighter idea of your plan.
I contacted a 'big' local TA about airfare a couple months ago, and they didn't find anything for me that I couldn't find for myself. Airfare isn't that difficult, but it can take a huge time investment if you haven't searched much.
You can also ask here and others may give it a shot.

If you are AAA members, their travel agents are very good and you get discounts on airfare and hotles.

Use Elizabeth Holmes Travel!!! This is the travel agency Rick Steves uses and I swore off using TA's until I gave them a whirl.

I have been working with Sarah and she has been amazing. She is a wealth of information and does what she says she is going to do. Also, they are based in Seattle.

I am not a shill, just a very satisfied customer. Have used them for a complex trip to Asia, a trip to Seattle and Portland and an upcoming trip to Amsterdam. I go to Amsterdam regularly and Sarah was able to get me a great deal there is no way I could have gotten on my own.

Phone numbers are 206-547-8361 and 1-800-588-8361. Good luck!
