Finally! My trenitalia refund!

Well, in May I received word from Trenitalia that a major part of our June 2020 itinerary (Naples - Florence - Siena; Bologna - Rome- Fiumicino) had been cancelled, with instructions on how to apply for a refund. In June, I received an email saying my refund had been okayed. In October I received a partial refund, with a notice that the remainder would come immediately.

And finally, December 22, I got the rest of it applied to my credit card. Whoop!

Tammy, frankly, I had given up. I figured we'd just write off the last half of the ticket cost.

We're also eating the cost of a wine tour; the vendor offered us a voucher good if redeemed within one year of our original reservation, but that's not going to happen.

But on the whole, we've received refunds or vouchers for just about everything we had reserved. We didn't pay for any of our hotels in advance, just transportation and a couple of tours. We've come out of this quite well.

An early holiday gift for you, Jane, if you had just written it off in your mind. Yeah! Now to begin dreaming of that next trip!

Hooray, Jane, for your refund. I remember the feeling of relief when I got the last of my refunds and could finally close out that task list of watching and checking and waiting.

Glad it worked out. Interesting that government institutions are as slow to refund as private business.
