Is the only way to get to the La Reggia Ristorante (P470 Rick Steves Italy 2010) is to hike it or can you get there by other transportion? My husband is handicap and climbing this would be hard for him....Shelly

Fiesole is not a long way outside Florence, so under the circumstances I'd probably take a Taxi directly to La Reggia Ristorante (and back). If you take the Bus, you'd still have to contend with the uphill walk from the Bus station.
For me the view and experience of dining there would be worth the cost.

Hi Shelly, We took the very inexpensive bus from the city center to Fiesole not long ago. It was a nice trip and when we arrived at the bus stop, which is just a stop in the very small town center, we were surrounded by restaurants and views of the city below. No climbing to do unless you want to explore more of the city - Roman ruins, etc. I can't speak to your particular restaurant, I simply don't remember the names of the restaurants that we ate at. Yep, we took the bus trip twice - the food was terrific. Have a wonderful trip!
