Hello-
We will be landing in Calais from Dover at 11am, (September 24th) hoping to catch a train to Paris at 1:30pm that will get us into Bayeux at 5:30pm. Is an hour and a half enough time to get to the train station? Sounds as though the walk to the station would be long and so a taxi on a Monday morning would be our best bet. Any issues with that? Am I correct in my research that there is no shuttle to the train station? Thank you for your help. Sue
According to this you may not need to go to Paris

11am to 1:30pm is 2.5 hours, not 1.5.
Oops meant a 12:30 train to Paris. Any thoughts?
Boat or Eurostar?
I haven't done it but Google Maps shows 16 minutes by taxi. Don't forget to check if you change rail stations in Paris. Presumably you have a reason for spending an entire day of your vacation on this itinerary move. London and D-day do not pair well.
Edit: Next post indicates this rail transfer calculation is wrong.
The 12:32 goes from Calais Frethun, which is a few miles out of Calais city. Yes, you have 50 minutes to change from Paris Nord to Paris St Lazare, but it will get you to Bayeux by 5:30 pm if all goes according to schedule.
The poster says "ferry" and "landing in Calais from Dover", so she is not talking about Eurostar train.
Sue, you will need to get from the docks to Calais Ville station, which is presumably where your Paris train leaves from. This is too far to walk (especially with luggage), you will need a taxi, but I do not know if taxis are available at Calais port.
The ferries are not orientated to passenger traffic. They are the low price end of the market, optimised for cars and trucks, and trying to undercut car transport via the Channel Tunnel which is faster. I.e. they are no frills basic.
I must ask, why? Why are you taking a ferry to Calais, on foot, when you want to go to Bayeux? Where are you starting from that morning?
If you are starting in east Kent, the route I would recommend is taking a Eurostar train from Ashford (inland from Dover). On the 24th September there are two trains from Ashford to Paris taking 1 hour 52 mins., direct with no changes:
06:24 depart Ashford, 09:17 arrive Paris Gare du Nord. Currently selling at £67
14:55 depart Ashford, 17:47 arrive Paris Gare du Nord. Currently selling at £101
There are also trains from Ebbsfleet to Paris, which is nearer London.
P.S. I hope your timings are allowing for the one hour time difference between the UK and France.
