Is there a ferry from Cittivechia to Toulons or Nice? If not, what is the best way to get to Paris?
The leisurely route would be a train from Civitavecchia to Rome and the direct night train from Rome to Paris. Leave Rome at 19:45 and arrive in Paris at 10:24. The cheapest as well as fastest route would be a train from Civitavecchia to Rome and a flight on a budget airline to Paris. For all your budget airline options see the search engine skyscanner.com. My first choice would be Vueling because it flies FCO-Orly. Second would be easyJet (Ciampino-Orly) because Ciampino is an outlying airport. Last would be Ryanair (Ciampino-Beauvais) because Beauvais is also an outlying airport and is a 90-minute bus ride from Paris.
There is a seasonal Ferry from Civitavecchia to Toulon. It takes 20 hours. Then an additional 4 hours by train to Paris. (Total time about 25 hours.) Or you could take the train from Civitavecchia to Paris and that runs anywhere from 12 1/2 to 15 hours . (Total time about 12 1/2 to 15 hours). Or you could fly out of Rome. 1 1/2 hours by train to Fiumicino and then less than a two hour flight to Paris. (Total time between 6-8 hours.)
Merci! Very complete and thoughtful!!!
