Ferry from Rijeka to Split in Croatia

I have searched every website that I can find for how to book passage on a ferry from Rijeka to Split in Croatia in June 2012. Jadrolinija has posted dates for travel but there appears to be no way to reserve a cabin. Can someone help?

We took that ferry (in the opposite direction ... Hvar to Rijeka). We bought our tickets just a few days in advance, on Hvar, and cabins were still available. What is your timetable ... will you be anywhere in Croatia where you can find a travel agency or Jadrolinija office, sometime prior to the day you plan to take the ferry? If you plan to arrive in Croatia and leave on the same day, you will probably be able to buy a last-minute ticket (the ferry is huge) but you may not get a cabin. In this case, you might want to try contacting a Croatian travel agency (Atlas is one) and ask if you can buy your advance ticket through them.

Kjell, I can't even find dates on their website. But if you know days they might serve this route try booking it through ocean24.de. Jadrolinja is a very complicated, formerly government owned entity and it actually sells through certain (usually also formerly government-owned) travel agencies and tour operators around the world. Ocean24.de is not a very good website but it's run by DER, formerly the Lufthansa and Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) - and thus government-owned German tour operator. They do sell Jadrolinja but again, I cannot find any dates for your route...

Thank you both. We will be in Koper, Slovenia, until the morning of June 8. The ferry schedule indicates an overnight car ferry from Rijeka to Split and beyond on the evening of the 8th (a Friday). I would like to reserve an outside cabin on that ferry but I'm concerned that if we simply show up on that afternoon, those accomodations won't be available. It sounds like we might be best off trying to make reservations via a travel agent rather than through Jadrolinije directly.

If you enter your dates on www.directferries.co.uk, which by the way appears to be a great ferry booking source, they indicate in red "Rijeka - Split > : No further sailings - please contact call centre 08718 900 9".

Looked at the 2012 Jadrolinija schedules and it appears the coastal ferry from Rijeka to Split and on to Dubrovnik isn't running this year. I'd suggest contacting Jadrolinija's customer service center to inquire (use the Contact link on the website). If by chance the ferry is running, they can assist you with bookings, or they may be able to offer an alternative routing - maybe with connections rather than direct. I used the customer service center a couple of years ago. They responded promptly and were very helpful.
