Ferry from Pula to Venice

Hi all,

I did a search on this topic in the forums but didn't find anything recent, so I'm asking here. My husband and I want to travel from Pula to Venice on Friday, July 7th. We are having a difficult time with 2 things:

  1. Finding a website that accurately displays the location of the ferry, the time the ferries leave, and the cost for travel without a vehicle. One website seems to show only prices with a car. Another website shows Pula to Venice not even leaving from Pula! I'm confused....

  2. Finding a car rental agency that's close to the ferry so I know which agency to reserve our car from starting in Dubrovnik to Pula on the 2nd - 7th. (pick up in Dubrovnik and drop off in Pula before we get on the ferry).

Has anyone done this recently or know the best way to do this? Also, is reserving ahead of time a must?

Thanks!

http://adriatic-lines.com/en/shipsandports/ describes the port of Pula as just below the Roman Colosseum/Arena/Amphitheater. Or http://venezialines.com/pula/ provides GPS coordinates that you can use on Google Maps with the same result. These are high-speed ferries, not car ferries.

All of the big car rental agencies have their offices at the airport. Only a few local agencies are near the old town, like http://www.avia-rentacar.hr/en/.
