We will be in Dublin and need to take the ferry to Holyhead on a Sat. There seems to be only 8am or 1:30pm fares. Do they open up more ferries in the summer? Does it pay to buy them online early or wait till we get there? Thanks
Marlene
I've ridden that ferry once. We left on an early ferry. They're big, ocean-going vessels. They carry a lot of cars and people and it takes awhile to load/unload. I can't recall exactly how long the trip took, but it wasn't a quick hop. We had more pitching/rolling that you would expect on a cruise ship. If you're at all succeptable to motion sickness, take some dramamine before you leave the port. They may run more in the summer, but I can't see them running often throughout the day.
