Ferry from Denmark to Sweden

Hello there! We have another question. According to the eurail website, we can get ferried from Helsingør (Denmark) to Helsingborg (Sweden) for free with a global eurail pass. I asked the Eurail customer service and they said we need to find out from scandlines.com how to get across for free. So I emailed THEIR customer service and they haven't responded. It has been three days! Does anyone on this site know how we would go about doing that? Thanks so much!

Right, either call them now or just arrive at the ticket office and tell them you have a pass. If the ticket is free with a pass they'll give you one. Otherwise I doubt it costs much as it's a short trip and often made by locals.

It sounds the same as the boats on the Rhine. If your pass is active that day, you simply show them the pass when boarding. It's only three miles from one side to the other. I don't know the price of the ferry but it can't be that much (lots of Swedes daytripping to buy relatively cheap booze in Denmark). Don't waste an expensive day on your pass just for the ferry. I haven't used a railpass for at least ten years. I found the point to point fares (let alone taking advantage of discounts) beat the price of a day on my pass on all but the longest travel legs. Since I avoid long travel days, a pass is never the better option. A student fare might still be a good deal but I haven't shopped those for awhile.
