Ferries in Greece

I want to take a ferry from the Greek island of Santorini to Mykonos. Should i buy the ticket before I leave for Europe to ensure that I will have a seat on the ferry of my choice, or will I get cheaper prices if I wait an buy a ferry ticket at the port?

With the exceptions of dates around Greek Orthodox Easter and some dates in August, you are fine waiting until you get there. If it is busy, I might buy my ticket for Mykonos when I arrive in Santorini (a day or two before the ferry?) otherwise I have waited until the morning of my ferry.

I think you're better off buying tickets there. The high speed ferries are at the mercy of the weather, wind is a problem even in the summer that can delay or cancel ferries. The slower boats can be delayed, but less likely. Buy when you're there - no problems.

I don't know if you'll get a cheaper price.
