ferries from sicily to naples

We will be seeing Sicily and then going to Naples and Sorrento in April. Has anyone used the overnight ferries and are they a good alternative to just flying? I read somewhere the cabins are very small so it's worth reserving a four bunk cabin for two people and their luggage. is this accurate?

michael,
I used the overnight ferry and liked it, I reserved an outside two person cabin and it had the top two bunks folded into the wall with the two lower bunks made up. The cabins are small.
On arrival at Naples I walked two docks over and got the ferry to Sorrento.

Michael...don't forget...their are lots of lo-cost airlines that fly from Sicily to Naples.

Michael, I have booked Naples/Catania for April (I'll wave to you). The ferry gives me, in effect, an extra day in Naples. I have no 15kg luggage limit to worry about, and it's my overnight accommodation. And I will have a different perspective on both cities from the water. I'm looking forward to the experience, having flown on previous trips.

I have used overnight ferry and found it good, I have upgraded to first class with Norfolkline and found it good and enough for our family (2 adults, one kid)
