Ferries from Croatia- Italy

Hi everyone,
This spring, and friend and I are backpacking Europe. At the beginning of May, we will be in Zadar, Croatia. We need to get to Rome, Italy. We hope to take a ferry from Zadar to Ancona, Italy, but we can't find a good website. Some sites say the trip will only be 30 euro, while another was charging us almost $300 CDN. Does anyone know a good website that I can book this ferry on, and/or what the proper price for this ferry ride should be?

You can find schedules and prices for the Jadrolinija ferries from Zadar to Ancona at www.jadrolinija.hr. May is usually considered low season (e-mail customer service to confirm), in which case their lowest prices would be EUR 37.50 + EUR 5 departure tax for deck space and EUR 43.50 + EUR 5 departure tax for a reclining seat. Cabins cost considerably more, which is probably what was quoted at CAD 300. There may be other ferry companies servicing Zadar to Ancona that charge slightly lower prices, but I'm not sure of names. I took an overnight Jadrolinija ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik in 2008 with good experience.

I guess YMMV because I've done the trip twice between Split-Ancona (connecting by train to Florence once, Rome the second time) and found the ships to adequate if a bit worn but the experience was great.

I'd do it again in a heart beat. So would my mid-60s mother who came with me the second time.
