Fare tracking

In case you haven't done any fare tracking with Google Flights or wonder if it's worthwhile, here is my example. Premium econ from LAX to Zurich end of September is ping ponging between $1986 to 2576 to 2351 to 2941. Repeatedly, as in every few days.

So yes, it does matter when you book. Obviously their computers are much smarter than us.

When I found our great Business class fare last summer, it took Google Alerts 24 hrs to inform me. So persistent snooping around on your own can still yield results.
Thanks for sharing. It's such a mystery how these airfares are determined by the secret algorithms.
Great catch!

If I'm serious about getting the lowest possible fare to Europe, I do not depend solely on fare alerts. I check Google Flights multiple times a day. I do it every time I think about it when I'm sitting at my computer.
