Family of 5 going from 8th arrond. to Paris Gare de Lyon

We need to go from our apartment to the train station for a Monday morning. Train leaves at 7:30 am. What is the best way for a family of 5 with luggage? Our apt service is offering a service for 80 euro. That seems high. Can we reserve a taxi or uber or something? Would like to do whatever I can prior to leaving.

Thanks.

The apartment service is adding on a big commission. Order a taxi on your own--Uber costs just as much in Paris and they can't use the bus lanes. Taxi G7 is a reliable firm that is comfortable with English-speaking passengers, and they have smartphone app, so you have convenience similar to Uber.

80 euros is disgusting..

Call G7.. ive used them before , they have english speaking operators.. The taxi will arrive with some money on the meter.. but not much.. and mention it is for five .. they will send a van taxi.
You can contact them by phone or look at website and see if they will give you a cost estimate.

Keep in mind it only costs 50-55 euros to go to the airport.. which is almost an hour away.. thats a preset price for taxis.. but even before the price was set I never paid more than 60 euros or so to come into city.. 80 euros is really disgusting...but they prey on nervous travelers who just want convenience I guess..

Call or contact G7

Excellent info. We will call them. How far in advance should we be at the train station? We have our tickets.

Going to Provence?

If you know Gare de Lyon well, 15 minutes is fine. Because the train can be spotted in either of the two somewhat separated sections of the station it can take a little while to reach your train.

If you don't know the station add another 10 or 15 minutes to be calm. The train platforms are posted around 20 minutes prior to departure, and you will either be in the right area or not. I'd allow 25 minutes for a first timer.

As nigel says.. they dont put up your track number till 10 minutes or so before.. however.. its nice to be well situated in train station.. and we always buy some snacks to take on the train ( sometimes for long trips we pack a full on picnic.. train food sucks!!!)
I am a "nervous nelly " type.. never like to be last minute.. so I go early.. about 25-30 minutes before..
