F1 Race next Summer

I am going to attend a Formula 1 race next summer, but I can't decide between the Nurburgring in Germany or Silverstone in England. Neither are located to any large cities where there are trains that go directly there. I could rent a car and drive, but the traffic will be bad, and I am not sure I want to learn to drive on the other side of the road when I am in a hurry to get somewhere. I will be a female traveling alone, so that limits my choices also. Does anyone have any ideas?

This is only 43 miles from Köln. The website doesnt translate into German, but let me know if you need more info from it. I am pretty sure there are trains going to Nuerburg, as Formula 1 racing is extremely popular here. I am trying to figure out why you are limiting your travel choices because you are a female traveling alone? Women are perfectly safe over here for goodness sakes, probably safer than anywhere in the states for that matter.

Shame the German GP isnt at Hockenheim- there is rail service to that city.

There are a number of companies that put together tours attending the F-1 races. I'd find a minimalist one that just gets you there and maybe addresses transporation and tickets- I know they exist for the British GP, I presume also for the German race.

The Dorint is a lovely hotel, right at the finish line. Pricey, but cool.

Looks like there are buses coming from Koblenz or Adenau, so you can take trains to any of those towns and find lots of lovely accomodations. This is in the Eifel region and is popular for hiking, wellness, etc.

Thanks for the ideas! How long do you think the bus would take? And do you think I should try to stay in Nurburg or nearby, or maybe drive from Cologne that morning? Also, to clarify a little, my sister will be traveling to Germany with me but will not be attending the race. I was thinking she could look around Cologne or Koblenz while I was at the race.
