Express bus from Munich to Prague

This is not a question but a notification. The Bahn has started Express bus service non-stop from Munich to Praque or back. Right now there are four buses daily leaving the Munich Hbf at 7:50, 9:45, 12:45, and 15:45. The trip takes about 4hr45mn. The last two buses of the day also stop at the Munich Flughafen. Like the Nuernberg bus, this is a Europa-Spezial Tschechien ticket. Fares can be advanced purchased up to 92 days before travel time. Fares start at €29 and go up as the lower priced tickets sell out. Tickets are non-refundable from the day of travel. More information, in German, here

Lee, Great information! Thanks for posting! I wish this service had been available this year, as I may have changed my Itinerary to include a few days in Munich. I did have a look at travel by rail, but it just didn't "fit" well. Cheers!

A single traveler can purchase a €21 Bayern-Ticket (for the regional train) online and self print it (I don't know if the Bayern-Ticket is available in Prague). Then you need to buy a Czech Rail ticket to Furth im Wald on the Czech-German border for about €10 in Kc. A fixed fare of €31 vs €29 for purchase well in advance, even more just before (at least 3 days) travel for the bus. For two people it's €49 (29 plus two times 10) vs at least €58 for the bus. The regional train takes 1h15m longer.
