During our trip in June, we have planned to take the morning boat from Bergen to Balestrand, spend the day and night in Balestrand, then complete the trip with the ferry to Flam and the train to Myrdal. I read on another site that the boat from Bergen, being an express boat, has no outside decks for viewing. Is this true?

Steve, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable, since you post many replies. Is it possible for us to replan our fjord trip? We are in Bergen on June 19 and 20, have reservations to stay in Balestrand on June 21, and must be back in Oslo in the evening on June 22. Can we split the Norway in a Nutshell trip? Anyone who has any ideas, I'd appreciate some! Thanks!
