Thinking of catching a flight from Strasbourg France to London in lieu of taking the train (long ride). I see some pretty negative reviews of this airport online and just wanted to see what personal experiences people had. I don't like small planes however, the flight to London looks to be a decent sized plane.
Thanks for any feedback!
Last September I flew from Calvi, Corsica to Strasbourg. The airport seemed fine to me, same as any other regional airport. It was what I'd describe as typical, average, perfectly functional, but nothing particularly special. No crowds, no unexpected hassles, no surprises. Granted, it's not like we spent a lot of time there - our flight landed, we walked off the plane, waited a few minutes to claim our checked bags. then headed into the city. It met our needs, and I'd use the airport again for any flight without hesitation.
Worth remembering: most people don't go online to give praise for, well, anything - negative comments are often what drives people online. YMMV.
I actually like smaller planes. :)
Hope that helps.
We loved Strasbourg’s small airport. Trains from Strasbourg’s main station go to the airport and it’s a breeze to quickly get to your plane’s gate.
Thank you both for the feedback! :)
I flew from Strasbourg to London in the summer of 2017 and had no troubles. I just had to remember to make sure I got my passport stamped in Strasbourg before going through security to get on my Ryanair flight. (Not sure it the set-up is still the same). Happy travels!
All airports and airlines have negative reviews online. Strasbourg airport is not known for having many incidents and has had only one plane crash over the last 32 years.
