I'm curious as to people's experiences with Poland's LOT airline. The last thread I saw was from a number of years ago - has anyone flown them in the last year or so? How are the seats in Economy and Business class? Their prices seem pretty amazing for a full service airline.
You will get a lot bigger range of reviews by using airlinequality.com and flatseats.com (business and first), both sites operated by Skytrax.
Flew economy from Chicago to Warsaw in September 2013. No complaints. 787 Dreamliners. I did not think the prices were that great. We flew them because they have the only direct flights from North America to Poland.
I flew LOT from New York to Krakow (via Warsaw). The transatlantic segment is on a 787; after everything I had read about batteries, fires, etc., I was worried, but my flight had no problems. There is both a USB charging port and an electric outlet at each seat in coach. And Premium Economy is nicer and more spacious than economy for only about $200 more; the seating in PE is 2-2-2 instead of the 2-3-2 in economy, so you not only get more legroom, but a whole larger space. Business Class is another higher level than PE.
Changing planes in Warsaw is easy (the airport isn't too big), but I was not prepared for one quirk. If you are connecting to another flight, there's a security check RIGHT AFTER immigration; if I had known this, I would have prepared on the plane. The flight to Krakow was on a smaller propeller plane, but it's short and was fine.
I'd certainly fly LOT again - particularly if I was looking for a Premium Economy experience.
