Every airline

Is there any airline in the world with zero complaints?

I asked AI, and here's the reply:

No airline in the world has zero complaints; it is virtually impossible for any large service industry, especially airlines, to have no complaints at all, as they serve millions of customers who may have varied expectations and experiences. While some airlines might receive fewer complaints than others, particularly regarding safety, cleanliness, or customer service, none are completely complaint-free.

Instead of looking for an airline with no complaints, it is more practical to research airlines known for high satisfaction ratings, excellent customer service, or strong safety records, as these metrics can help you find a reliable carrier for your travel.

This is my way of saying I find no value in individual, anecdotal reports of bad service or other problems with airlines. And, for that matter, with any other company in the travel industry. I get really tired of seeing them in this forum.

There are places out there where star ratings and reviews are aggregated, so you can compare airlines or hotels or tour companies based on overall satisfaction ratings. These aren't always reliable, but they're far more useful than one individual complaint based on one negative experience.

I understand from first-hand experience how frustrating it is to have a bad travel experience and feel like I didn't get a satisfactory response or appropriate compensation. But broadcasting it on forums like this, while cathartic (and maybe delightfully vengeful), isn't helpful to others, is it?

Well, it is an open forum on travel and it seems some people, at times, feel the need to vent on an experience or subject that upsets them. We all have the ability to just move on to the next post.

Well said, and finally, an intelligent response from AI. I get the need to vent, but my pet peeve is when these one time posters make the statement "don't use company ABC, because I had a bad experience." Don't tell me what to do, I'll read what you have to say, research it further, and then decide for myself.

Fully agree with Lane and Allan. Yes, it's an open forum. Yes people have a right to post whatever they want, within the guidelines. Yes, I can just move on to another thread. But no, I find absolutely no value in these posts, and I give little to no credence to a one hit wonder who only posts once to rant and then is gone. Can't they just post on a site that actually asks for and rates reviews? And I dislike having wasted my time even reading these diatribes.

I thought the entry recently when the company posted their side of the story was extremely interesting and helpful. I'd like to see more companies posting their side.

However, the growing number of posts about last minute tour cancellations or impossible time changes are useful because they show an increasing trend in potential private tour scams that everyone needs to become aware of.

Otherwise, I agree, one and done to be skipped.

I agree with Lane to a certain extent. I feel like its ok to post a bad experience and then the reader can determine if its something that might impact them. That said, its super annoying when the OP never comes back to respond to questions, especially when it appears they contributed to their bad experience.

There are some that will post during their travels. In those cases, if some one can help the OP, its worth the post.

I also want to say that folks can suggest over and over that in most cases, it is just best to book directly whether its an airline or guided tours. I think it really makes a point to post actual experiences. Seems to me that any issue with air travel that is booked with a third party, goes no where. Likewise, more and more people are posting issues with Viator and/or Get your guide. I so feel for these folks that are going on a trip of a lifetime and so looking forward to the Eiffel Tower, or Coliseum, and it was cancelled last minute. Inevitably, some one will post that they have always booked with Viator or GYG, and never had a problem. (Actually a term for this, survivorship bias) To hear the actual statements from folks I think is a good warning for travelers, and then people can make their own decisions.

As an aside, I won't say I never book with a 3rd party. When booking a car, I typically will at least try a search with Autoeurope. They always have been good for me. In regards to booking.com, I rarely book with them anymore because I have had multiple bad experiences with them, which I posted to the forum. I'm sure I probably annoyed some, and there were folks that did post that they'd never had a problem. It is good to have multiple perspectives.

The very first thing I do when I see a complaint post is to check the OPs post count. And invariably, when I see they are a first timer , my first thought is that if they had bothered to ask about whoever or whatever caused their kerfuffle BEFORE they made their booking, they might well have been given the necessary advice to avoid the problem in the first place. If not here, then there are countless review sites out there. I applaud the new posters who come here to ask if anyone has heard of xyz and are they recommended, before they book.

Ooh! Ooh! I want to read that. Can anyone point me to that thread?
