Eurostar mostly OK French SNCF Strike

For what it's worth here's my 2cents on the effects of the French rail strike on the Eurostar from London: not much it seems. I'm at St. Pancras now, 4:00 pm London time. Departures to Paris appear to be on time but completely sold out. No word here in London re effects IN France on Eurostar or any other SNCF service. I was advised to keep checking the web. One other pblm this weekend, if you're headed to the area btwn Marseille and Nice: track work appears to be the reason almost no trains at all are running btwn Marseille and Nice June 14-16! Including all the ones I was planning g to take! I'm told there may be substitute buses but I can't confirm. Hope this helps.

Here's from Europe 1:
starts at 7 pm Wednesday French time until 8 am Friday. Eurostar and Thalys not affected according to SNCF management. Around Paris the regional trains will be a mess (Giverny, Chantilly, Chartres, etc.), including the RER B and D. TVG will be affected. Before anyone asks, there is absolutely no mention of the metro having a strike.

Except 50% of the short haul flights will be cancelled on Thursday due to an air controllers' strike. ;-)
