Eurostar: Leisure Select Class-Worth It?

I will be taking the Eurostar from London to Paris. Is it worth paying the premium for a leisure select ticket rather than the standard ticket? Are the seat, service and food worth the upgrade for such a short trip?

Totally not worth it. I traveled first class once when my company purchased the ticket. I've taken second class at least a dozen times.

In first class, they give you a really bad meal (think airline style TV dinner) and have an attendant in the car. Seat is slightly larger.

The second class carriages are quite nice and it is a short trip. Don't waste your money. If you want a meal, buy a sandwich in the terminal to take with you. It will be of higher quality than what Eurostar serves.

I am in agreement - the Premier Business and First Class service has declined greatly on the Eurostar. You will be just as happy purchasing your own sandwich and a bottle of wine to bring aboard.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like I should take the money & spend it elsewhere.

No, second class is fine, seats comfy also. I do recommend bringing a sandwich or snack of some sort with you as the food concession did not have many choices, and of course were not that good. Bring a drink also.
