Anyone renting a car in Calais after taking the Eurostar from London? How did you get from the train station to the car rental area at the car ferry?

You could take the train from Charing Cross Station, London to Dover Priory, taxi the mile to the ferry port, P & O ferry to Calais (I think they are the only ones that take foot passengers), pick up a rental car at the Calais ferry port. We did it in June, 2008, but going in the opposite direction. Taking the ferry was an interesting experience. We enjoyed seeing the White Cliffs of Dover. I have heard that there is now a faster train to Dover, but even the slower one only took two hours.

There are shuttle buses to Calais town station from the Eurostar station at Calais Frethun. (http://www.calais.fr/article/navettes-des-gares-calais-ville). There is also an Avis and a Car Hire 3000 car hire depot at Frethun station.
