Is is more complicated to travel by motorcycle then euro pass? I would like to spend a year in Europe just seeing everything possiable. Does the train system offer a cargo car for motor bikes? Given I have the time is this a frugle and easy way to travel?
I can't answer your queston regarding the motorcycle. But as for traveling thru Europe for a year, the Schengen Law only allows you to stay 90 days, then you would have to leave for 90 days before returning.~~~Here is a list Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italym Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.~~~I might have missed one.
I don't think most trains would allow motorbikes on board - bicycles usually, but not motorbikes.
While you can't haul motorcycles aboard passenger trains, some of the rail companies like Germany's DB do offer a vehicle carrying service (like Amtrak's Auto Train). Don't have any personal experience with any of this but here's a starting point: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorail
I don't think anybody has much found Motorail frugal. ^ ^ ^ You are able to cross the Channel by motorcycle in the Eurotunnel. ^ ^ ^ You will have to resolve your visa problems - you can't just stay on. ^ ^ ^ How will you move your luggage? Will it all fit on your back? Or are you using a sidecar or big panniers? Do you have a bike license now? You'll also need to get down to AAA to get your International License.
Deutsche Bahn only offers the automobile service for a few long-distance routes. I think you need to come up with a better idea for touring, especially if money is a concern.
