A buddy and I are leaving for Europe one week from tomorrow. We have Eurail passes for 6 days, 2 of which we plan to use for night trains. We know that you have to be on a non-connecting train at night for it to only count as one day from our 6 days total. I have looked on Eurail's website and there are trains for both of these nights that have no connections. I would like to make reservations for them, but cannot figure out how to do it with my eurail pass. I can do it with a credit card, etc.. but would like to know how to go about making the reservation for which I will use my Eurail pass.
The problem is, we will only be in each city a couple days. Can we get reservations at ANY train station, or just the one we will be departing from? If so, we can just wait until we get to our first destination.
If it helps, this is what we need as far as night trains:
August 5 overnight Florence to Paris
August 7 overnight Paris to Barcelona
Eurail's schedule site told me that there is an option for both without connections, just trying to reserve them to get some closure.
I've looked at several of these sites, but I still cant figure out how to reserve without paying anything- because I already purchased my Eurail pass.
That is essentially what I am trying to figure out.
And as far as a schedule changing, we already have hostels booked in each city, not to say I can't cancel them but since we have to take a night train that doesnt make any connections, and theres only one on the schedule, we want to book it so we dont have to use more than one of the days on our Eurail pass.
I can't find where to buy a passholder fare.
Great, thanks for your help Steve.
