Eurail pass in Italy

So I've bought a Eurail Global pass and now want to make reservations in Italy, eg Rome - Naples and return (many more trips but this is an example). There seems to be now way to do this on the Trenitalia web site, or am I missing something?
Please don't tell me the Eurail pass isn't going to be my friend. :(

Is there a way you can get your Eurail pass refunded? If so, post your plans, so people can help you figure out if you will do better without one. These days, for most itineraries and for most people, a Eurail pass is not the best deal (despite Rick Steves himself continuing to talk about them as though they were). Of course, there are exceptions. Here's a good summary of the issue, from the Man In Seat 61 (also a wonderful resource for all kinds of train information): http://tinyurl.com/bkw4u6c If your pass is not refundable, ignore the above. But do be prepared for some more frustration at how much more work it is to use it than you were promised when you bought it.

Peter, the Eurail pass is not going to be your friend. Point to point fares in Italy are really cheap and a pass is probably less useful there than in any other country in western Europe. This question comes up a lot, and you could do worse than read this thread from earlier in the year: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm/rurl/topic/94323/train-rail-passes.html And this one about how a passholder can make reservations: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm?topic=88179 And this: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm/rurl/topic/51917/trenitalia-reservation-for-eurail-pass.html
