We purchased a Eurail pass for 5 days to travel in France only and the pass has not been activated as of 3/20/23. We would need the pass April 2 - 15, 2023. With the uncertainity of dependable train service in France, we are considering requesting a refund for the passes and purchase point to point. We will be travelling from Lyon to Bayeux to Paris on to Colmar, Beaune and back to Lyon. Any suggestions?? Thank you!!!

Did you book your reservations for the trains already? They are mandatory for all long-distance trains in France. They can be done online for the most part, but I do not know the details of how to proceed (check out the v helpful "man in seat Seat61" website maybe?, and online reservations for Paris-Bayeux trains used to be problematic (I remember a thread about this from last year); I do not know it it was fixed.
At this late date, point-to-point tickets might be expensive, but you can compare to cost of Eurail + reservation fees + 15% (IIRC) cancellation fee.
