Eurail Pass Discounts in on Jungfrau Region

I've done a couple searches and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. Apologies in advance if I missed it.

I am just getting crystal clear on my pass usage since I leave tomorrow. In order to get the 25% discounts on the various trains, cable cars etc in the Jungfrau region (Murren, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, etc) will I need to actually "use" a day of my pass or does just having possession of the pass get me the discount without using a day of it? I'm sorry if this is an obvious question but I have read in some posts where it appears you sometimes do and don't.

Hello Ali,

... we have used Eurail passes to travel on Lake Lucerne steamers (in those days, free passage just by showing our Eurail passes). We also got a discount on the Vitznau-Rigi Bahn (oldest cog rail in Europe) just by showing our Eurail passes. In those cases, actual "use" of our Eurail pass did not come into play. We would be surprised if it ever does. Gute Reise! / bon voyage! P
