Does anyone happen to know if the Eurail Pass is valid on the RER in Paris or the Cercanias (local commuter trains) in Barcelona or Madrid? I think not, but I'll ask anyway. Thx. Tom

The RER is a "no" for sure. I'm pretty sure it is also "no" for the Cercanias. Generally the passes are only valid for inter-city travel.

From what i have read the Eurail is valid on the RER if coming from Charles DeGaulle Airport, but I understand that is the only time.
